Explore mangrove forests in a kayak and experience one of Qatar’s natural wonders. The Al Thakira Mangrove Forest is among Qatar’s oldest and largest forests and a real surprise for most visitors in a country known for its desert landscape. The ecosystem attracts migratory birds such as herons and flamingos during certain parts of the year and numerous types of fish and crustaceans can be found all year round.

Upon arrival at the Al Thakira camp, you will receive a safety briefing before setting off to explore the mangroves. The pace is relaxed to ensure the tour is accessible even for the inexperienced kayaker and you also learn more about the ecology of the mangrove forest.
